Q: I have a lot of swelling. Is this an emergency?

A: Swelling is natural after any surgical procedure. If swelling is accompanied by severe pain, uncontrollable bleeding or pus, please call our office immediately! The good news is that swelling typically peaks 48 hours after surgery and then goes down after that.

If, during office hours, you are having pain or experiencing an emergency, please call us immediately so that we may schedule the best time available for you. We will do everything possible to give you the highest priority, and immediately treat the cause of the problem.

Should an emergency occur after hours, we can still be reached 24 hours a day. Dr. Walsh is always on call.

Incidentally, you will be glad to know that, because of our comprehensive examinations, our patients experience very few emergencies.
